Student case report 2015/16

"Studentombudsmän" are here to help students at Gothenburg University.

Their main tasks are:

  • To help students who encountered problems in their education.
  • Investigate the issues of student character.
  • Support for students who face the Disciplinary board at Gothenburg University.

Once a year they put together a report about their work. Here you can read the complete report about the student cases during 2015/16.


GU internal climate fund

In order to balance employees' carbon emissions from air travel, the University of Gothenburg offsets carbon emissions in an internal climate fund. Employees and students can apply for funding for projects that reduce the universities´s emissions of greenhouse gases. Click here to read more about the criterias and to fill in the application form. Deadline for application is November 10, 2016.


Student-social projects

Every year Konstkåren have some funding for student-social projects at its disposal, provided for by the faculty. Some of it Konstkåren uses for activities open to all students at the faculty, such as Konstpub or MasterMingle. The sections within each institution have some responsibility for student-social events, but students can also apply for funding to arrange events and activities by themselves. You can find the application form on our website. If you are having troubles open it on your smart phone, please try again from a computer.

Exhibition openings on Fridays at Valand

Every Friday at 4 pm two new exhibitions opens in the galleries Monitor and Rotor2 at Valand. Below, and on the website www.m.otor.se, you can find the complete program for the fall: 


Open Hours at Valand

The Wednesday Open Hours at Valand will start again on the 26th of October. If you have any questions or something you want to talk to us about, just come by between 12 and 1pm every Wednesday!

Artist talks at HDK

Iapsis will arrange two artist talks at HDK during the fall: 

Wednesday 19 October, 3–5 pm: A naked insight into my artistic practice by Tobias Alm.

Wednesday 26 October, 2.30–4.30 pm: Press Play by Elisa van Joolen – A lecture about taking initiative, finding new ways to collaborate and to create in an oversaturated (fashion) world.

Mindfullness at Artisten for free!

Konstkåren and Fysiken invites you to a free Mindfullness course at Artisten, HSM, at 4pm on the 3rd of November. The room is not decided yet, but we will meet you at the main entrance 10 minutes before it starts. Welcome!


OTHER NEWS

Watch an open rehersal of Europas kniv by Björn Runge

On the 1st of November between 2 and 3 pm students are invited to watch an open rehersal of Europas kniv at Göteborgs Stadsteater. Entrance is free of charge and you will get a chance to talk to the actors and to the assistant direcor Marcus Carlsson. No tickets are needed. To read more about the play, click here

Free theater tickets at Göteborgs Stadsteater

Göteborgs Stadsteater invites Konstkåren members to see Höstsonaten before everyone else! Click this link to reserve two tickets for the general rehearsal on the 26th of October! There is a limited amount of tickets, first come first served. Watch the trailer here!


Action weeks at A-venue

During two weeks (19 - 29th of October) A-venue focuses on performance and performativity in a variety of forms, expressions and shapes. The artworks highlight key social issues: Empowerment and participation, the search for empathy and meaningful meetings, while they process feelings of powerlessness, escapism and a longing for emancipation. A few more days left to apply for "Durational practices and marathon art" at A-venue

23-27 November A-venue is planning a performative week and exhibition dealing with issues of time and duration. We are seeking projects from students, PhD-students and teachers that have slowness, time-consumtion and repetition as important parts of their practice.

We are primarily seeking performative project and workshops that can take place live inside or outside A-venue during this week. We are also seeking artworks, design- and craft projects that deals with duration as a theme: It can be results of very time-consuming processes, extremely repetitive actions or lengthy procedures.

Apply for fundings from Creative Europe

The EU-programme Creative Europe (2014-2020) aims to support the European audiovisual, cultural and creative sector. Creative Europe Desk Sweden informs and gives counselling to applicants that are interested in applying for grants.
